Fitspeek 56 features a follow up interview with Vancouver’s Chad Bentley. He’s the guy who did 5 Ironman distance events over 5 consecutive days on 5 Hawaiian Islands back in the fall. The name of the event was the EPIC 5. The interview is epic as well, so much in fact we split it up into 2 segments. Tune into Fitspeek in a few days when we will have part one for you. Chad speaks about his motivation to do the event, his training for it, as well as all the other preparation needed to take on such a radical challenge.

Fitspeek 55: Our Christmas Edition
It’s time to indulge in all this special season has to offer and if that means a few extra calories and a few less workouts so be it! Fitspeek 55 will prime you with ideas and motivation to carry you over Christmas. First off we have your upcoming events schedule to do some Resolution Run planning for the morning after the night before (that’s New Year’s Eve).
Next up on the program is our check in with Abbotsford’s Jen Burns. Jen is doing her very first Ironman triathlon in Whistler in (gasp!) 7 months and we’ll find out how her mind and body are doing. Jen also tell us about her Christmas temptations and what she would like to have Santa bring her!
Our final segment of Fitspeek 55 brings you another Fit Tip of the Week. This time we are focusing on the top three fitness trends of 2018. We’ll explain how mindful movement can help you in your training sessions. Listen to it all by pressing that play button below!

If you have never represented Canada at the Olympics, you are not alone, however Campbell River athlete Matthew Sharpe is well on his way.
In our interview we hear about how a guy who was too small for hockey and not quite fast enough to make it as a competitive swimmer found his niche in triathlon. Of course the road to the Olympics can be paved with setbacks and Matthew has had his fair share of those, from bike crashes to overuse injuries, Matt explains how he overcame those setbacks.
We also talk about other important things like Nathan Killam’s mustache, spirit animals, and Victoria’s craft beer scene
